Went to the Ocean City Kayak Surf Festival on Saturday. Waves from Hurricane Fabian were pretty good (though bigger in the morning, and apparently cleaner on Friday afternoon). Chest to head high sets. In fact, the waves were so good and the day so beautiful that I spent much of it paddling, and only took 4 (pretty weak) pics. But you can see them on the photos page.
The 2003 World Surf Kayak Championships start this week in Easky, Ireland.
Here's a pic of Ross Fulcher at Easky this week (from the US-East site):

And here is the tragedy that befell Spencer Cooke's new boat, the Spray:![]() |

Finally got some paddling in over Labor Day weekend. Beautiful weather, and too crowded at Bay Head/Point Pleasant Beach, NJ.
OK, after a hiatus of almost a year since the last post, I'm finally getting around to putting some more stuff up here. Vince Shay has had time to finish shooting and editing a new surf kayak video (and you can download a preview and order here).
In comparison, I've done nothing. Though I finally posted a handful of pics from last year's Nationals on the photos page. On the downside, the scripts that post the NOAA wave data in the righthand column seem to be broken. Working on it...
